Another manic Monday and my trip to Seattle was uneventful, although my plane was 45 minutes late. I flew out of Imperial Airport to Los Angeles and then on the Seattle. While we were flying into Seattle, I shot this photo of the lakes with the snow capped mountains in the background. Of course, the flight attendant told me to turn off my camera and I did; after I took a few photos.
Martin Romo and his eight year old son, went to Guadalupe Victoria yesterday to deliver needed supplies to the earthquake victims. In his own words: “Thank you to Kats Korner, the San Felipe United was a great success. I just arrived from Guadalupe Victoria, where everybody had a wonderful time with this new help. Plenty of clothes, shoes, candles from the church and of course a lot of bags with food, diapers, dry whole milk among others.
A beautiful two month old girl received her diapers and wet wipes for her care. One more time my son Martin Jr. who is 8 years old helped me to deliver and did good job on pictures. He is learning how to be a great human and share his time doing positive things too. I want to thank the Police Dept. for all their help and support.
Thanks to all the Americans who made this goal possible. The Lions were delivering their help in the division between Sonora State and Baja California according to the police frequency when I was there delivering too. Thank God for all this help given to all these people in need. Seems like the fear is gone in those towns.
The streets were crowded, a lot of people in the city park and also in different churches. Looking forward to giving more help soon. They requested more diapers and milk. Hasta la vista, with respect: Martin Romo.” Thank you Martin for all you do for San Felipe.
Martin also told me about San Felipe’s latest event: “The Rosita MTB Enduro Mountain Bike Team, won yesterday in one of the stages in Ensenada. Jose Luis Preciado won on Master class and his son Jose Luis Jr. on young class. Stay tuned for the San Felipe Invitational Mountain Bike Ride. We have built a wonderful and unique area to ride in town.
We already have the experience in organizing events like this. Two stages we have done so far in the past year. Thanks, Martin Romo. Anyone interested in entering the Invitational Mountain Bike Ride, please see Martin at Rositas.
On the trip up to the United States yesterday, I wanted to write a report on the condition of the highway. To tell you the truth, it was not that bad. There are a couple of detour spots, but for the most part, the highway is more than passable.
They are working on the construction of the new highway, in addition to making repairs where needed. The photo above is one detour and the first one you come to is the military stop. The drive is a bit slower, but not that bad.
We had to wait in line at the border for an hour and fifteen minutes but the road to Mexicali is in very good shape. It looks as though they have been working quite hard to get the highway in good shape. To tell you the truth, I was surprised that it was in such good shape.
My little baby, Muffy, was laying at the end of my bed the day before I left and she’s so cute. I really miss her, which tells you where my priorities are. When I adopted her, I had no idea she would grow up to be such a doll. The only problem is she can jump like a Kangaroo. She jumps over the laundry room gate which leads to the far back yard. Then she climbs the tree and jumps over my neighbors fence and off to play with neighborhood dogs. She’s taught the other dogs to do the same thing, but Baxter is just too fat to jump back over the fence, so he’s usually at the front gate.
While out on the José Andres on Saturday, Martin Romo was on the Tony Reyes and took this photo of me. The green shirt is to promote Kat’s Korner and my new official color. (I’m just kidding). Have a happy Monday and I’ll try and post some scoop tomorrow.

Kat;
I’m sure others have let you know but, just in case… Why has there been a 2″ by the width of your header for graphic for katskorner? It is aqua in color and has been there for approximately 5 days.
It covers all the graphics on the header.
Hi Mark – it doesn’t show on mine and you are the first to write and let me know. Perhaps it’s your bandwidth because sometimes, the blue comes on first and then the green and it sounds like the page isn’t completely loading. I will ask Luis, our web master, and see if he has any ideas. Thanks for letting us know.
have fun with your family, god bless!
