It seems like our telephone scam is still in operation.  It’s very important to let all your neighbors and friends know about this jerk or jerks who are calling residents of San Felipe with phony stories.  The man who calls you starts the conversation out a couple of different ways, depending on who answers the phone.  One house he called, he asked for the person whose phone number was listed in the phone book.  However, her father never uses that name but he said it was Roberto and this girl has a cousin whose name is Roberto.  Luckily, her mother had read Kat’s Korner and told her it was a scam.  A woman came to our office at La Plazita looking for me, however, I was already in Seattle but Briana was there to help her.  These are her words: “Good morning, my name si Dolores Chapa and am sking you to put on your web page once more the alarm that americans are being targeted with scams that you have a friend at the border and its being detained, they provide you with a tel number and acct  to deposit money. Am one of the victims but it happen again to another lady Dolores Russell and she was lucky enough that another friend got there and told her about my call so she got away safe and sound.  I am here at your office because I needed to talk to you and will be leaving tomorrow for California. Please put an article on your page again and warn everyone about this calls – I called the Comision Federal and reported it and got a file  when I get back home I will send you all the info I got it from a booklet that I got at the border crossing Paisano is the name of the booklet. I know that people think that because they hang up its done with if they get an account # and tel number report it their back and open a file with the C.Federal 01800-440-690 or 01-800 77-4842 – most of the fraud numbers are from Guadalajara Mexico – Thank you -I hope you can formulate an article and put in it in your web page – My email is dolores1950@sbcglobal.net.  Dolores Chapa.” This is an obvious scam and do not fall for it.  Call the telephone numbers above to report the crime and make no bones about it; it’s a crime.

Another manic Monday and my trip to Seattle was uneventful, although my plane was 45 minutes late.  I flew out of Imperial Airport to Los Angeles and then on the Seattle.  While we were flying into Seattle, I shot this photo of the lakes with the snow capped mountains in the background.  Of course, the flight attendant told me to turn off my camera and I did; after I took a few photos.

It looks like we’re going to get a little rain today, which is not a bad idea unless you’re traveling to the United States or planning a picnic.  Of course, we could use the rain to pack down the sand and dust and water the desert flowers.  Speaking of flowers, the memorial for Tony Reyes, Sr. was very nice and the film by Frank Foster was very moving.  It made me cry to see and hear Tony speaking.  The Pavillion was packed with friends and family of the Reyes family.
