25 May 2010 – Tuesday.

I woke up early today and started watering all my trees and bushes and cacti outside, but before I get into today’s business, don’ forget about the homemade Pot Roast dinner at Baja Java tonight which includes all the trimmings and you can bring your own libation.  It’s going to be great.  Someone sent me a photo of a Brown Recluse – a spider that’s not native to San Felipe, but somehow gets here either in boxes when people move here or they hitch a ride in a trailer or motor home. They like to hide out in dark places, so it’s probably a good idea to wear gloves if you’re cleaning out your garage or about to put your arm in a dark place.  If I pick up a bucket outside, I usually kick it over first to make sure there’s no critters hiding inside of it and back at my laundry room, I always use a stick to pick up clothes that have either fallen or blown behind the shelves.  We also have Black Widows, but they don’t scare me as much as the Recluse.  The damage they do is unbelievable and not to scare you, but there have been four people I know of who have been bitten down here.  This is a photo of the Brown Recluse.  The nasty little guy’s venom eats the tissue from the inside and I don’t think I’ll put a photo of what it does on because it’s really gross.  However, you can always Google it and see the grisly photos.  I know one of my friends was in the hospital for six months, so be careful in dark places.

24 May 2010 – Monday.

It’s another manic Monday in San Felipe especially after the wind storm we had.  It blew all of my clothes off of the line and I had to collect them from all over the back yard and throw them back in the wash.  My huge cow of a dog, Baxter, got out of the yard by jumping up the tree and over my neighbor’s fence.  However, they were gone yesterday and so Baxter being rather fat, can’t jump back in so he was stuck in their yard.  He was back in the yard this morning, limping, so he must have found a way.  I am finding someone today to fix the problem as I’m sure Gabby my neighbor doesn’t appreciate my hoard of dogs in her garden.

23 May 2010 – Sunday.

As my father used to say, “the road to hell is paved with good intentions” and so, I’m probably going to hell.  I worked at Kat’s Korner yesterday and ran around doing some errands and came home and answered some emails.  I had planned to go down to George’s Restaurant to hear Tavo’s Revolution as Denny Flannigan was sitting in.  However, I took a nap at about 4:30 and didn’t wake up until 9:30.  The best laid plans, blah blah.  At any rate, I heard they were very good so I’ll go next Saturday.

22 May 2010 – Saturday.

I had intended to wake up and go play tennis today and I did wake up at 6:00 a.m., but I fell asleep again until 8:00.  Oh well, tomorrow is another day but I may wander out to the swap meet as I’ve not been there for a long time.  It’s another beautiful day in San Felipe.  I had my hair colored and cut by Hair by Nancy yesterday and I’m very happy with it.  Judy Fraiser from the south beaches was also there so we had a few good laughs.
