Update: It looks like Wornout and Debbie from El Dorado Ranch made it to Tucson and, of course, Wornout is showing off that he has free wireless.  They are on their way to Truth or Consequences to visit Lou and Tienna who also have a place at El Dorado Ranch.  He also sent a photo of what goes on in the mind of some men when the weather is nice.

Looks like Tony Chapman, a condo owner at the Marina Resort, was successful in helping the local cops catch the bad guy.  Check the article out here.  It’s in Spanish, but you can get the gist of it.  And from our Mexican Ambassador, Martin:  “Hi Katherine, just to let you know I was invited to work as a volunteer in the project on Calzada Chetumal and Mar de Cortez/Downtown. We want to see our town cleaner, safer and also in better condition. So Pedro, the painter told me to join him in this new challenge. Pedro made several dolphins and rays with special materials to display along the strip. Today we worked so hard. Plenty of local merchants are helping us in buying paint, special stone (grava) cement and other things. I’m sure the city it will look better now and I think this will be the beginning of a new era where all must support each other.  We are having a huge support from the Electric Company and also from the Fire Dept and from the city hall to make this work.  This will be a clear sample that working together we will make it better.  Thank you Katherine for everything you do. Most of the Americans across the border are always waiting for great topics like this and you are a very important way of communication. Most of the local citizens told me I should be the new Delegado because I’m involved in the city as nobody. But it is not my goal. Congratulations for your web site!! With love and respect, Martin Romo. P.D. Join us at www.facebook/Martin Romo C”.  You’ve got my vote Martin!  Anyone interested in joining this group, please contact Martin at Rositas.

I missed posting yesterday because I was too busy.  My daughter and grandson came over and we went to see my mother.  She’s on oxygen and very frail.  A few prayers would be appreciated.  Like the Admiral’s wife Fran said to me: “Whomever said the golden years were golden, was full of caca”.  (She didn’t us that word, but I’m protecting her impeccable reputation).  However, I’ve had a cold since I arrived and I’m seriously thinking this time about putting a patch on and giving up on the smoking.  Now, remember, I didn’t say I was quitting – I said I was seriously considering it.

Today is the El Dorado indoor swap meet at the Pavillion.  Shawnee was going to take some photos of the set up to send to me and when she does, I’ll put them up.  By the time I return, I’ll be so broke you’ll probably see me there on Saturdays selling my collectibles and junk.

sunrise in seattle

What a gorgeous sunrise this morning at Lord Stables and because of the combination of rain and sun, the roses and other flowers are absolutely gorgeous.  It was over 80 F yesterday in Seattle and this kind of weather for more than two days, freaks the locals out.  I think I’ve heard “it’s so hot” more times than I say it in the summers down in San Felipe.  Of course, today, it’s a bit overcast, but it’s also 6:30 a.m. and I believe we’re going to have a beautiful, sunny day today.

Tonight, Tavo’s Revolution with Denny Flannigan on the keyboard will be performing at George’s Restaurant on Mar de Cortez.  It’s outside and there’s plenty of room to dance.  They were supposed to perform last weekend, and I was going to meet a couple there, but evidently Tavo had to make a quick trip to Oregon, so it was canceled.  The fun starts around 7:00 p.m.  This is for Val – the resort I wrote about has specials and sometimes you can get a room for $90.00 for the first night – then it’s $150 per night.  Some of their suites are in the $500 per night range, but if you’ve got that kind of money, you’re used to paying those prices.  It’s definitely a five star and it’s a good idea to pay for the room before you start gambling. Check it out here. This is the outdoor smoking area from the non-smoking club inside.  Pretty fancy.

I’m going to check my email and return to my posting, but I wanted to get something up to let you know I am still with the living.  I’ll be back in a Mexican minute.  In the meantime, have a great weekend in beautiful San Felipe.
