31 August 2014 – Tuesday.

Well, it’s garbage day in my neck of the woods (in the hood) but with the cooler weather we’ve been enjoying, they may start to pick up a little later than 4:00 a.m.  What a day we all had today.  We got a lot accomplished, including all my speaking parts in the next “A Walkabout with Kat” which you’ll see after the Tijuana Walkabout.  I think I managed to get all the things on my list accomplished and what I didn’t get done, my trustee associate, Luis, can take care of it for me.  While I’m gone, I will be posting on Kat’s Korner and as I have mentioned before, Kat’sKorner/The Net are closed until September 24, however you can reach me by email or Luis via phone or internet.  The beauty of the world wide web.

30 August 2010 – Monday.

Another manic Monday and we’ve had a temperature drop as of last night and my thermometer reads 82 F with 25% humidity so that’s not bad at all.  Yesterday when I posted I can’t keep eleven dogs, I obviously can’t count either.  I already have seven and six more makes thirteen, not eleven.  Math was never my strong suit! I had a wonderful dinner with Shawnee and Bill and a nice surprise, Sandy and Denny Flannigan were there.  Shawnee is a great cook and they’ve got a view to die for.  I didn’t realize just how far up Saltito Road the houses are being built and they are practically to the mountains. It was a nice meal and visit, so thank you!  Shawnee sent me a photo and here it is.  Photo by Shawnee Bowden.

29 August 2010 – Sunday.

I want to know where the darn weekend went.  I suppose it’s always this way when you’re trying to get out of dodge.  I just wish I were leaving today, rather than the day the National Guard shows up at the border.  I suppose they will be in Arizona, so I won’t have to deal with it, but I would like a photo opportunity!  Today, it’s warm (alright, a little hot) but we have a nice breeze so it’s not that bad.  At least the humidity is down a bit.  My outside thermometer reads 101 with 22% humidity which is a piece of cake, until Luis and I go out and about filming the rest of the walkabout.  I just got done hiding medication for heart worm, ticks and fleas into hot dogs to fool my dogs.  It’s virtually impossible to give them shots, so I have to figure out how much each cow weighs and each tablet is for 10 pounds.  What a pain, but that’s what I get for taking in stray dogs.  And, to my joy and surprise, Brownie didn’t have three little puppies, she had six and really, they are darling, so come by my house in two weeks and get yourself a little puppy to take home with you.  I’ll be your best friend!! I can’t have eleven dogs – I’ll go out of my mind (more so than I already am).  Here’s a photo of five of them, and one has a face like a boxer.
