Friday in San Felipe and the beginning of Labor Day Weekend and there’s lots to do.  Tavo’s Revolution with Denny Flannigan will be at Rumors and they are serving an $8.00 fish dinner which should fit into everyone’s budget and the new and improved Tavo’s Revolution will surprise you.  The fun starts around 6:00 until 10:00 p.m. so come early to get a seat.

“We have just heard and confimed that on Monday, August 23, Melissa bought 7 days of Mexican Insurance at 12:48pm which means after they went to the bank in Escondido they traveled back to San Ysidro and we have to now assume they crossed the border and are somewhere in Mexico. We are told by the insurance agent they mentioned going to the beaches in Baja. The insurance expired today at 12:48pm and they have not crossed back as far as we know and although it gives us some good indication of where they are it raises additional concerns because of the wide spread violence and kidnappings that are routine in Baja.”  There is a web site dedicated to the missing couple and you can see it here. Mat Vasquez DOB – 4/4/1980 Ht. 5’10” Wt. 180 Black Hair, Brown Eyes; Melissa Dixon DOB – 12/27/1979 Ht. 5’10” Wt. 120 Light Brown, Blue Eyes. It is presumed that Mat and Melissa are driving in Melissa’s 1990 Red Miata Convertible, license plate # 4SQR528.  The rear window is broken out.  If you have seen this couple or their car, please go onto the link and contact the family.  The families are distraught as the Mexican insurance ran out and they are not back and have been missing for ten days.

Also, tonight at Jollymon you can hear Agave Blues out at the Jollymon Bar from 6:30 to 10:30.  There’s air conditioning in the bar and the last time I listened to them play, they were very good and Arturo’s pretty nice to look at so it’s worth the ride out there.  By the way, I stole this photo off of Face Book so I can’t give photo credit.

Saturday night at Juanito’s are the Sing our Sisters with Chuy and at Rumors, you’ll find Mac n Nan and their Karaoke show.  I’m babysitting my grandson tonight, as my daughter and her uncle went to see Leonard Skinnard and it’s such a joy to have a little munchkin around – as long as they are picked up by their mother.  The sunrise today in Seattle over Bitter Lake was beautiful, and I’ll post the photo in the morning.  I understand there have been some changes in the Shrimp Festival line up and as soon as I clarify it, I’ll post it right away.

I heard yesterday that someone is poisoning the coyotes at El Dorado Ranch.  So, feral dogs and other animals will also die.  If this is really happening, something needs to be done.  The coyotes were here before any of us were and we have no right to kill them because they may or may not get your pet. It’s our duty to protect the environment, especially in a country that is not ours.  If you know of anyone who is doing this, please report them.  My friend, Lynne Shannahan, who lived in San Felipe many years ago and now lives in Hawaii sent me a photo a while back, and although I’ve had it on my desk top, I kept forgetting to post it.  So this is a photo of Lynne (who is good friends with Evelyn Cazz who also has a home in San Felipe and Hawaii) and her girls.

The city of San Felipe is busy gearing up for the Dia de Revolution and it’s 200th year anniversary.  There will be a celebration in the baseball park and other celebrations throughout that weekend.  Have a safe and sane Labor Day Weekend.  Ciao for now.
