Good morning San Felipe and hopefully it’s sunny and warm unlike Seattle today.  This wet cold is the pits, as opposed to a dry cold.  It seems to permeate your bones.  It’s definitely fall in Washington, at least on this side of the mountains.  I hope San Felipe had a good crowd for the weekend, and it looks like the bands drew some folks.  Today is football Sunday, so I would imagine most of the places with big screen televisions will have a crowd.  Yesterday, we took my grandson to a Value Village and he was absolutely fascinated by the sequined skulls.  I was standing in back of him and his face was right on the skull and a woman walked by and said “what a great photo – skull to skull” and I thought, duh, I have my iPhone camera, so these are a couple of photos of Khye talking to the skulls.

We are so fortunate not to have freeways in San Felipe.  I don’t know how people handle this traffic up here, although I did at one time, living in a small town like San Felipe for so long, you get used to the slowness of life, if that makes sense.  It seems like everyone is in such a hurry and I can’t tell you how many cars during rush hour had only one person in it.  Whatever happened to car pooling?  Oh well, not my problem and I’m happy to visit, but that’s the extent of it.  You can see the stress from the photo I took of myself while in the car.

Last week I reported that the swap meet at the Pavillion has ended and the outdoor swap meet at Cachanilla would open again September 3.  I was wrong; the actual date, I believe, is September 18.  If you want further information on the swap meet, you can ask Jorge in Activities at the ranch.  This is what a party spread in Hawaii looks like as least in Lynn Shannahan’s house.  Looks good and thanks for the photo Lynne.

I’m sure a few of you have received this scam, as I’ve received two.  It will normally come from a person you know (at least their email account) and the first one I received was allegedly from Michele McDonald.  At any rate, it’s a scam – don’t fall for it.  This is what they say:  “Hello.  This had to come in a hurry and it has left me in a devastating state.I’m in some terrible situation and I’m really going to need your urgent help. Some days ago, unannounced,I came to visit a resort center in Drayton, Scotland Road Industrial Estate, Dry Drayton Cambridge England, UK..but I got mugged by some hoodlums and lost all my cash, credit cards, I’m financially stranded right now and my return flight leaves in a few days but I need some money to clear some bills, I didn’t bring my cell phone along since I didn’t get to roam them before coming over. So all I can do now is pay cash and get out of here quickly.I do not want to make a scene of this which is why I did not call my house, this is embarrassing enough.I was wondering if you could loan me some cash, I’ll refund it to you as soon as I arrive home just need to clear my Hotel bills and get the next plane home, As soon as I  get home I’ll refund it immediately.  Millie

The San Felipe Title Bookstore is open again as the Meders are back from a tour of Europe.  Their hours until the Snowbirds return are Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  As Ed says “Once the snow birds return we will stay open until 3PM but for Sept that will be the schedule…… am attempting to get my news letter back in print and will have some very money saving specials on the BAJA PLANT & FIELD GUIDE…..  even through it is out of print currently was able to score on 25-30 new copies someone found in great shape.”

Des, Khye and I have been staying at my friends ranch and it’s crabbing season in Washington so Leo has been out setting crab pots and last night, Marla and I ate fresh crab meat dipped in butter.  It was so good. Today is the last day, so Leo went out at 5:00 a.m. and just returned with a grip of fresh crab.

Anyone who can help with contact information for a woman who is not in San Felipe but has a home in Percebu, please contact me with the information and I’ll forward it on.  “Pat and Joe Graham and the camp owner, Jorge Rodriguez, is apparently looking into the matter. A few doors down are Lori and Steve from Solar Express. I will try emailing them but if you happen to have (long shot but worth a try) an email address for Jorge or Pat and Joe, I’d appreciate your letting me have it.”

Unfortunately, my daughter said she and many others were very disappointed in the Dylan concert and a lot of people left before it was finished.  She said the first two songs were okay and then it sounded like he needed to clear his throat and she said it sounded like a different person singing.  That’s it for this chilly Sunday morning and hopefully, everyone is having a nice time either visiting or living in San Felipe – where it’s warm.  I forgot to mention there is a new club for men being formed by Darryl Silva and I believe it’s called “STUDS” or “SPUDS”, but you’ll have to contact him for more information.  Ciao for now.
