Ragtime was America’s first musical art form with its beginnings circa 1890. Scott Joplin was its most prolific composer/artist. You will recognize Ragtime from its familiar “Maple Leaf Rag” tune and the movie, “The Sting”. Essentially, it added syncopation to older European music styles.
The Sandy Hook group traces its roots back to 1694. For many years, Ambrose Lightship (a floating lighthouse) was the transition point for the pilots. However, the lightship has been destroyed several times by collision, and has been abolished. With today’s more modern navigation advancements, radio contact is now sufficient.
I wonder how many words are in a Spanish dictionary. Of late, I’ve found that even with my limited Spanish, I comprehend more from the original Spanish than from a computer translation. Being lazy, my Spanglish will have to work well enough for me.
While not manufactured in San Felipe, for many years, Mexican artisans have produced a wide variety of shell and Mexican agate (which itself has become quite rare) tabletops encased in clear plastic resin. I just had occasion to re coat one I purchased in Tijuana in 1961…yes, 1961.
