Shirley Thompson had a trip planned and had to cancel, however, the 3 day fishing trip is still being planned. In her words: “We have 9 people wanting to go on the fishing trip with Tony Reyes Jr fishing tours. We need 12 minimum. I put a bulletin on the weather page, but maybe that’s not the best one. Could someone put a bulletin on the front page for last minute sign-ups. I have to call Tony today or tomorrow and let him know we may have to cancel. Anyone wanting to get in on a short, pre-season, 3-day fishing trip on Tony Reyes’ boat come March 30-April 1 for $300 dollars, e-mail infosanfelipe@gmail.com. Deadline for sign-ups is March 14th.

10 March 2010 – Wednesday.
Can you believe it’s hump day already? This week is flying by and tonight around and about town you will find 2AM at Jollymon with their newest member, Ricardo and I hear they are playing to pretty full houses; I believe they are also playing Saturday nights at the Lighthouse, but don’t quote me. If I recall correctly, the Baja Boys are at La Vaquita or it’s the Vatos Locos and both are great, so if you go and it’s not the one you expected, you’ll still enjoy yourself. Seriously, I’ll let you know for sure. I believe they have a pool league going on in town and they are moving from one bar to the other to play the games. Contact Barbi for further information. I forgot to mention I got three cheeseburgers and fries to go from Linda’s Landing at the Fandango and they were very good and enjoyed by all the Kat’s Korner team, except Hop-a-Long because he was sick.
9 March 2010 – Tuesday.
Desert Mothers will be at Baja Nueva Saturday, March 9 from 10-4. The Jewelry Class with Kari Montrose and Debbie La Bonte starts March 15 and people must sign up now. Please call Donna Roberts at 576-0089 or 685-169-52-67. Today we have a little wind and everyone is getting geared up for the racers to start rolling in. The race begins at 6:00 a.m. Saturday morning but contingency is on Friday about 9:00 a.m. on the Malécon. It’s going to be a great time and don’t worry about your safety. All is well in San Felipe. As I mentioned above, Kari and Debbie are the ones who are teaching the Desert Mothers how to make the Cancer Walk pins and they are working very hard to get them done and ready to sell. They really are beautiful and one half of the proceeds will go to the Cancer Walk and one half will go to Desert Mothers to continue their workshops. The cost of the pins are $20 and you can write or call Donna to pre-order your pin.
Monday evening.
I received this message from my buddy Carolyn on Mexico My Space and thank you very much: “Subject: New Kats Korner–Super! “Hi Kat, Just a quick note to say how much I really like the new look for Kat’s Korner! Wish I could have been there to hear Natasha James, but will definitely be back down to Baja for the Blues Fest, along with some friends of mine who will be visiting San Felipe for the first time. Thanks again for all the time, talent, photos, energy etc. that goes into your columns. For those of us who aren’t down in Baja full time, its a super great way to stay in touch with our ‘second home’. Also, glad to hear you are feeling better! Carolyn.“ Thank you again for your kind words. Photo of Luis and I waiting for the rain to stop at the Taco Factory by Anita.
