    • Jimbobaja on Saturdays with Sam OMIt's margarita time!
    • Kat on Baja Belle’s DiariesI flunked my driver's written test twice (might of helped if I read the book); third time was a charm but my dad taught me to drive at about 13, so the driving part of it was fine. It is a special time and I hope I can share the same memory with my grandson, Kyhe, when the time comes. Thanks Baja Belle.
    • Sam Grubb on Baja Belle’s DiariesWhat memories. You are a lot younger than me. When I started driving, driver's ed had not been invented. We just started driving into ditches, parked cars, slow pedestrians, and an odd assortment of heavy things that crumpled our fenders.

    • Bruce on 18 May 2012 – FridayHi, Kat. I must presume that Freda has already told you about our visit to Junio's memorial luncheon (earlier today) so I won't go there. Rather, you mentioned (above) visiting San Felipe so I will touch on that. The problem, however, is seeing the world through my eyes. For example, most folks who mention San Felipe do so in a manner that ignores the fact that getting there involves crossing 100 miles of magnificent desert. For you AND them, therefore, the "turn-on" is the word "SanFelipe" whereas for me it is "desert". Did you know that 20 miles west of...
    • Donna Roberts on 15 May 2012 – TuesdayKat my heart was very heavy reading about both Lou and June. All the legends of our town of our town are leaving us for a better place. This has been a sad year for San Felipe and no one will be able to take their places. They all were so colorful, full of life to the very end. If you ever had the chance of meeting any of them, your life became better for it. All of them made San Felipe the incredible, wonderful place it is. When Teina called me and asked if she could donate the money to...
    • Bruce on Wednesdays with Bruce BarberMany thanx for your kind comment, Kat, but you're not alone in being directionally challenged. On the opposite side of the same spectrum, I was born with a (directional) compass in my head. And, in a manner of speaking, I can see around the next corner. It is that special vision that enabled me to go just about anywhere I wanted out there. This is not to say, "If you've seen one desert you've seen them all." On the contrary, after seeing just one (back in '46) I found I wanted to see them all.
    • Kat on Wednesdays with Bruce BarberWow, I feel like I was on the trip with you and Freda; how I regret not going with all the folks throughout the years while working at The Net. Always working. Well, when I retire, I'm going to explore the desert! Shoot, I've been lost in Las Manitas and in Newton. I'm directionally challenged. Wonderfully written story and it was definitely a pleasure seeing this day trip through your eyes. Gracias!
    • Carolyn Richardson on Wednesdays with Bruce BarberGreat story telling, Bruce. Thanks for letting us tag along with you on your wiener roast!
    • Sam Grubb on Wednesdays with Bruce BarberPerfectly poetic. What a rich description of the special beauty of our corner of the earth.
    • Kat on 15 May 2012 – TuesdayI can't take credit for both obits. The first one Teina sent me and I just added to it. Gone but never forgotten!
